Welcome to the Norman Gate School website, I hope you will find it interesting and useful.
Norman Gate School is a primary school for children aged 2 – 11 with a range of learning difficulties. We have approximately 60 children on roll in six classes in school, on average 12 children per class, one teacher and usually two or three learning support assistants this includes 20 part-time children in the nursery.
We believe that children develop best in a positive environment where they are nurtured and their self esteem can grow. We enable the children to access a wide variety of learning experiences, presented in a variety of ways to meet the needs of all different learning styles. Children are encouraged to ‘have a go’ knowing that they are well supported and so are safe to do so.
Norman Gate is accredited as a Rights Respecting school and the work of the school puts children's rights at the centre of all that we do. Showing respect for one another is at the core of school life.
As the school is based on positive principles we have lots of reward systems such as stickers, certificates and whole class trips.
We believe that children make most progress when home and school work together and we look forward to a close working relationship with all our parents.
Norman Gate is very much part of the community. We are part of a campus of four schools and we work closely with Vigo Primary, Winton Community Academy and Mark Way Secondary.
Andover is a forward thinking town and we are proud to be part of the Andover Area Partnership for Learning which works for the benefit of the whole community.
There is more information about the school on the website but if there is anything you cannot find please do not hesitate to get in touch with us firstname.lastname@example.org
Visitors to the school are welcome.
