Tailors Class – School Website – Woosh! Bang! Crash!
The beginning of term saw Tailors Class in awe of things whizzing around in the sky. There were lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ and children exclaiming ‘wow’! We were watching fireworks!
The children loved watching the fireworks and soon they were creating their own. From pipe cleaner and colanders to cardboard tubes and paint, everything became a firework.
Once we had explored a variety of different creative arts (and cleaned up the mess we might have made!), the children set about making their own type of fireworks; this time using words! Everyone watched a firework display and thought about how they looked, sounded and how they made them feel. The class came up with some fantastic describing words and loved seeing their words come together to create an ‘explosion of words’.
With everyone enjoying the fireworks and creating plenty of their own, it’s time to explore what people use fireworks for.
What do you use fireworks for? How do they make you feel?
